Muzaffarnagar. (Muzaffarnagar News)International wrestling player Divya Kakran has tied the knot. Divya did seven rounds with powerlifter Sachin Pratap Singh at a resort in Meerut. Union Minister Dr. Sanjeev Balyan, Minister of State Kapil Dev Aggarwal, President of Wrestling Federation of India Brijbhushan Sharan Singh also reached the wedding ceremony.
During this, Divya Kakran said, could not qualify in the Olympics in 2020. But, now with the luck of my husband, I will return from Paris in 2024 with an Olympic medal. Divya Kakran is an International Wrestler and Arjuna Awardee wrestler.
Divya Kakran has won medals for the country twice in the Commonwealth. Her husband Sachin Pratap Singh is a resident of Jafarpur village in Shamli district of West UP. Sachin is a national powerlifter. Divya’s father-in-law Bhanu Pratap Singh is a sub-inspector in Meerut PTS.
Sachin’s grandfather Bhopal Singh and Divya’s father wrestler Suraj Kakran are both old friends. Now both the families have converted this friendship into kinship. Divya’s haldi, sangeet, henna rituals were all done from her house. The marriage has been done in a mandap in Meerut. The pundits of Varanasi solemnized the marriage. Sister Divya Kakran’s marriage took place in the same ceremony as her brother Deepak Kakran’s engagement to Neena.
Nina is a Dietician. Divya’s mother Sanyogita completed the event.
