Former The Bachelor contestant Susie Evans recently appeared on Nick Viall’s show with Andrew Spencer to talk about her experience on the show and her past relationship with Clayton Eckardt. Susie shared that she still had questions about their relationship months after their breakup, and had doubts about their compatibility. She said she felt Clayton was more compatible with ex Rachel Recchia. (Also Read: Lucy Liu talks about nude pics of ‘playful’ Drew Barrymore: ‘She looked so natural in these pics’)
During the 2022 season of The Bachelor, Susie expressed concern that Clayton had slept with other contestants during their fantasy suite dates. This led to an argument between Susie and Clayton, and Susie temporarily left the show. However, Clayton convinces the other contestants to stay on the show and admits that he has strong feelings for Susie. Although they didn’t end up together during the final rose ceremony, they dated for several months after the show.
In her conversation with Nick Viall and Andrew Spencer, Susie revealed that the show’s producers had influenced her feelings towards Clayton, and that she felt misled during the filming process. Her experience highlights the challenges of trying to establish a relationship with someone while also dealing with the pressures of a public platform. He also admitted that he was more compatible with Rachel Recchia, adding, “So I remember looking back and saying, You’re more compatible with Rachel. I remember thinking, Why did you choose me? You have someone you would have been really compatible with. And the other girls, too, didn’t make it this far.
Rachel Recchia and Gabi Windie, who were co-contestants on Season 19 of The Bachelorette, also had relationship conflicts. Both women ended up single by the end of the year, with Rachel being linked to Dancing With the Stars pro Alan Burston. However, in February 2023 rumors surfaced that Clayton and Rachel might rekindle their relationship after collaborating on a series of TikToks.
Susie’s experience highlights the complexities of dating on a reality TV show, where outside factors such as producers, editing and public scrutiny can affect the course of a relationship. Despite the challenges, some couples manage to find lasting love on these shows. It remains to be seen whether Clayton and Rachel will be one of them.
