Who is Ruchira Kamboj: India’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Ruchira Kamboj has once again reprimanded Pakistan. During the special session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), Ruchira Kamboj slammed Pakistan for raising the issue of Kashmir. He once again gave a message to Pakistan and made it clear that Kashmir is and will remain an integral part of India. He accused Pakistan of misusing a big platform like the United Nations.
Ruchira Kamboj is a 1987 batch Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer. She is the first woman ambassador of India to the United Nations.
Who is Ruchira Kamboj?
Indian Foreign Service officer Ruchira Kamboj took over as India’s new Permanent Representative to the United Nations in August 2022. She is the first woman ambassador of India to the United Nations. Ruchira is a 1987 batch IFS officer. Earlier she was India’s ambassador to Bhutan. She has also served as India’s High Commissioner to South Africa. From 2011 to 2014, she was working as the Chief of Protocol of India.
Experience working in multiple responsible positions
Ruchira Kamboj was appointed as the Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations (UN) Headquarters in June 2022. He replaced Ambassador TS Tirumurti. Ruchira Kamboj started her career as the Third Secretary in France. He held the responsibility of the Indian Embassy in France from 1989 to 1991 as the Third Secretary.
From 1991 to 1996, Ruchira Kamboj served as the Additional Secretary in the Europe West Division of the Ministry of External Affairs. She was the All India Women Topper of the 1987 Civil Services batch.
