Two minor Hindu girls kidnapped again in Pakistan, police refuse to register FIR

Pakistan Crime: A new incident has been added to a string of atrocities against members of the minority community in Pakistan. Two minor Hindu girls have been allegedly abducted in Sindh province. The girls’ mothers protested on Wednesday after the police refused to register an FIR in the incident. The mother claimed that the incident happened last week in Salah Pat area near Sukkur when she was returning home with her family.

He told that three men came and forcibly took away his two daughters, aged 17 and 18, and when he tried to stop them, they pushed and hit them. When she reached the police station to file a complaint about the kidnapping of daughters, the police refused to register an FIR in the incident. Helpless mother protested on Wednesday.

The woman said, “I have named the masked people who have kidnapped my daughters, but the police is not doing anything. I appeal to the court to take cognizance of this matter and give my daughters back to me.

Kidnapping and forced conversion of young Hindu girls has become a major problem in the interior of Sindh province, which has large Hindu populations in the Thar, Umarkot, Mirpurkhas, Ghotki and Khairpur regions and most of the Hindu community members are labourers. Last month a woman and two girls were kidnapped

Last month too, a woman belonging to the Hindu community and two teenage girls were kidnapped, two of whom were forcibly converted to Islam and then married off to Muslim men.

On July 16, 2019, the issue of abduction and forced conversion of Hindu girls in various districts of Sindh province was also raised in the Sindh Assembly, where a resolution was debated and then passed unanimously after amending the objections of some MPs. That there should be no conversion. But the bill declaring forced conversion a crime was later rejected in the assembly. A similar bill was proposed again but was rejected last year.
