Tunisha committed suicide on December 24 on the sets of her television show Ali Baba: Dastan-e-Kabul in Vasai, Palghar. Both were co-stars in the show. Sheejan was arrested on December 25 on charges of abetment to suicide. They were in a relationship but separated a fortnight before Tunisha’s death.

According to news agency PTI, Tunisha was with Ali between December 21-23 last year, Sheejan’s lawyers told the court. On Monday, District and Additional Sessions Judge RD Deshpande in Vasai heard the arguments of both the prosecution and the defense and allowed the time sought by Tunisha’s counsel and adjourned the hearing on the bail plea till January 11.

Sheejan’s lawyers Shailendra Mishra and Sharad Rai told the court that their client was innocent and was not connected to Tunisha’s death. She also claimed that before his alleged suicide, she was on a video call with Ali for 15 minutes. Demanding a probe into this aspect, the advocates also said that no suicide note was found from the spot.

On Sunday, Tunisha’s mother Vanita Sharma alleged that Sheejan used her daughter to meet his drug expenses. Vanitha also denied claims by Sheezan’s family that Tunisha was being “neglected” by her mother, which had caused her to fall into depression. Vanitha said that the late actor loved her a lot and used to share everything with her.

Speaking to ANI, Tunisha’s mother had said, “I don’t need to tell anyone what relation I shared with Tunisha. Tunisha was my daughter, she was closest to me. She loved me a lot. . She even slept with me.” And used to share everything with me.” Tunisha’s mother also cited audios of the actor to reveal that the two love each other.
