There is still confusion regarding the name of the Chief Minister in Karnataka, where is the patch stuck?

Bengaluru: The ongoing suspense over the Chief Minister of Karnataka has not ended even after three days. According to sources, now the name of the Chief Minister may be announced in Bengaluru itself on Wednesday. Before this, the curtain was likely to be lifted on the name of the CM on Tuesday evening itself. Meetings continued throughout the day, Congress brought both its contenders Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar to Delhi in the CM selection exercise, but a decision is yet to be taken.

According to sources, the announcement of the Chief Minister of Karnataka has been postponed for a day. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge met both the contenders on Tuesday. Now, the final decision will be taken after discussions with Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi.

It is also being said that the MLA meeting will be called on Wednesday afternoon. In the CLP meeting itself, the MLAs who will choose their leader, will go to the Raj Bhavan and present their claim to form the government.

Before this, different views of the top leaders of the party also came to the fore regarding the selection of the two leaders. If sources are to be believed, Rahul Gandhi and KC Venugopal have backed the 75-year-old Siddaramaiah. Apart from that, most MLAs also want to see Siddaramaiah on the Chief Minister’s chair.

On the other hand, Sonia Gandhi has a good relationship with 61-year-old DK Shivakumar. Congress president Mallikarjuna is yet to take sides and party state in-charge Randeep Surjewala is also neutral on both the leaders.

It has also become difficult for the Congress to decide the Chief Minister of Karnataka because the mother-daughter duo (Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi) have not agreed on the matter. Apart from DK Sivakumar and Siddaramaiah, senior Congress leader G Parameshwar has also filed for the CM post. He said on Tuesday that he is ready to take responsibility if the party high command asks him to run the government. Later his supporters also demanded to make Parameshwar the CM.
