The Night Manager, a novel by this name was published and later a British TV series with the same name. One of the most successful series in the world of TV, The Night Manager was watched by viewers in more than 180 countries. The series has so far won two Emmy Awards and three Golden Globe Awards. And now the Hindi remake of this series is here for the Indian audience. A lot of Indian viewers would have watched the series in English, so it must have been a challenging task for the makers to make the Hindi remake interesting. Now it remains to be seen whether the experience of this crime-thriller series can be improved or not.
Story
The Night Manager is a spy thriller series based on Shan Sengupta, a hotel night manager and ex-navy officer. Their target is Shailendra Rungata’s dangerous gang, which deals in illegal weapons. Shaan Sengupta joins Shailendra’s team to win this fight and then the story moves forward.

It is in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, and leads to violent Rohingya protests outside The Oriental Pearl Hotel. The audience then meets Shaan Sengupta (Aditya Roy Kapur), the hotel’s suave and polite night manager. He solves every problem calmly. It ensures the safety and comfort of the guests. But now the events that come before the audience in the story will keep them hooked.
The story also features a victimized young woman named Safina, who is trying to escape her criminal husband. Shaan tries to help her. An Indian RAW agent is Lipika Rao (Tilottama Shome), who wants to catch business tycoon Shailendra aka Shaili (Anil Kapoor). Lipika takes the help of Rao Shan Sengupta in this mission. Shobhita Dhulipala’s character also has an important role in Anil Kapoor’s life, which is part of his past.
Sandeep Modi, who won the National Film Award for Best Friend Forever, has a good grip on the story and screenplay. We have seen his brilliance in Arya and Chumbak web series. The Night Manager will grab the audience’s attention from its very first episode due to its interesting story and thriller treatment. However, when the story progresses and Shaan Sengupta joins the team in the king style of arm dealing, the pace slows down a bit.
At some point the speed of the series slows down but the audience does not get bored. As a spy thriller, The Night Manager will entertain. But some things in the series go beyond understanding. As such, the genre says that it can be easily understood by any human being. But he trusts Shaan quickly. The style business and its estate are shown as a castle of wonder, where no one can easily reach. But Shaan can reach everywhere very easily.
Acting
Talking about acting, Aditya Roy Kapur plays the role of Shaan. He has given a powerful performance. He embraces this character with great ease. He has also performed well in the role of an ex-soldier. Everyone knows about Anil Kapoor’s acting. However, it also seems that his potential as a powerful criminal has been underestimated. Maybe due to the spotlight being on Shaan, the hero of the web series, Anil Kapoor’s character could not be given enough justice. However, Anil Kapoor has done enough justice to the character with his powerful performance.
Brij Pal is played by Shashwat Chatterjee as Shaili’s right hand. His work will also attract the attention of the audience. Shobhita has played the role of Kaveri, although her webstory is yet to surface. But she is looking good in her role. With six seasons of the British series, the end of the first season of The Night Manager Hindi will leave viewers with some questions that will make you wait for the second and third seasons.
