China asked to avoid unilateral action
A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman said the parties concerned should refrain from taking unilateral actions that could further complicate the situation. Also, one should engage in dialogue and deliberation to resolve the dispute and maintain peace and stability in the region. India had in the past rejected third party interference in the Kashmir issue, saying that matters relating to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir are purely internal matters of the country. The Ministry of External Affairs had said in March this year, “Other countries, including China, have no right to comment on this. They should note that India refrains from commenting on their internal issues.
Pakistan has been spouting places on Kashmir
Relations between India and Pakistan have been strained over the Kashmir issue and Pakistan-sponsored cross-border terrorism. Bilateral relations between the two countries further deteriorated after India on August 5, 2019 decided to abolish the special status of Jammu and Kashmir and bifurcate the state into two union territories. India has repeatedly told Pakistan that Jammu and Kashmir was, is and always will be an integral part of India. India has said that it wants normal neighborly relations with Pakistan in an environment free from terror, hostility and violence.
