An atmosphere of fear and panic among the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
According to the PIPS report, between August 15, 2021 and August 14, 2022, there were 250 terrorist attacks in Pakistan in which 433 people died and 719 people were injured. The think tank said in its report that in recent months there has been an atmosphere of fear and panic among the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa due to the news of withdrawal of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) terrorists from Afghanistan. What is even more worrying is that the movement of terrorists has been seen in key places of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa such as Peshawar, Swat, Dir and Tank indicating that it is expanding.
The report said that recently the police in the Lower Dir district had issued an advisory to the local people asking them to make arrangements for their security in view of the prevailing circumstances. The police had advised the locals not to travel unnecessarily and to carry licensed weapons.
