Suzlon orders Adani Green Energy to supply a total of 48.3 MW wind turbines

New Delhi:

Suzlon on Tuesday said it has received orders for the supply of 23 wind turbines totaling 48.3 MW from Adani Green Energy.

Suzlon will install 23 units of its wind turbine generator (WTG) with a hybrid lattice tubular (HLT) tower and a rated capacity of 2.1 MW, a company statement said.

The project is located at Mandvi, Kutch Gujarat and is expected to be commissioned in 2023.

The order is a double order from Adani Green Energy and is in addition to the existing 226.8 MW order, as announced on 13 August 2021.

“We are delighted that Adani Green Energy Limited has reaffirmed its confidence in us for placing additional orders for its wind power project at Mandvi, Kutch, Gujarat.

“It is always a privilege to partner with India’s leading IPPs in our endeavor to empower our nation with green energy,” said Girish Tanti, Executive Vice President, Suzlon Group in a statement.

Suzlon will execute the project with the scope of supply, installation and commissioning.

Additionally, Suzlon will offer post-commissioning operation and maintenance services.

“We believe that Suzlon is an obvious choice for our stakeholders and customers as our products are optimized for the diverse Indian wind regimes supported by our service offerings.

Suzlon Group CEO Ashwini Kumar said, “In our pursuit of a self-reliant India, Suzlon wind turbines typically consist of 70-80 per cent domestic content and are manufactured in India through a thriving domestic value chain.”
