The daughter set fire to her parents while the police were taking them
Pawan’s wife Pratiksha was recently elected as a councillor. The victim alleged that she was threatened by Pawan, who used to rofe after his wife’s victory in the local elections. On Sunday, Urmila had an altercation with Suman and Pawan, who later informed the police about it. ‘Even though the case was pending in court, Pawan deliberately sent Suman and his wife to the area where the fight took place. When the police took me and my husband to the police station, my daughter got upset and tried to kill herself,’ said Urmila.
The sister lit the fire and the brother kept shooting the video
Shahjahanpur SSP S. Anand said, ‘According to the doctors, the victim has burns from neck to waist and her condition is critical. We have learned that the victim’s brother drained the petrol from the bike and later shot the video. We have recovered the CCTV footage and it seems that he was the one who was forcing his sister to take this step’.
The victim suffered about 50 percent burns
Based on the two-minute CCTV footage, a senior official with knowledge of the case said, it could be an attempt by the brother to use the sister along with his cousins to make the other party appear guilty. “We are investigating all aspects of the case and further action will be taken only after the complaint is filed. Our effort is to save the victim. She has suffered about 50 per cent burns and has been referred to a hospital in Lucknow for further treatment’, the official added. The incident took place in Reeti Colony under RC Mission police station limits, where Sundarlal, father of five, lives with wife Urmila and three children, including daughter Saroj. Sundarlal works part-time in the city and his other two daughters are married.
