Signs of easing of tension between India and China on LAC related issues

India China Military Talks: The dispute related to the border between India and China continues till now. Meanwhile, both the countries seem to agree for more military talks to resolve pending issues related to the Line of Actual Control (LAC). India and China on Friday (October 14) agreed to hold another round of talks among senior military commanders to take up the remaining issues along the LAC and create conditions for restoration of normalcy in relations between the two.

After this, a virtual meeting was held on both sides for consultation and coordination on India-China border matters.

Will Demchok and Depsang issue be resolved?

The Indian delegation was led by Shilpak Ambule, Joint Secretary (East Asia), Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), while the Chinese side was led by Hong Liang, Director General, Border and Oceanographic Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China. The Ministry of External Affairs said both sides reviewed the situation in the LAC and welcomed the recent disengagement at Patrolling Point 15 in the Gogra-Hot Springs area. However, differences still remain in the Demchok and Depsang areas.

Agreed for the 17th round of military talks

According to the Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), both sides agreed to continue discussions through diplomatic and military channels to resolve the remaining issues along the LAC at the earliest so that the normalcy in bilateral relations is restored. To create conditions for restoration. For this, it has been agreed to hold the 17th round of talks between senior military commanders at the earliest.
