NATO countries sent all Soviet weapons to Ukraine
However, for many smaller NATO countries and even some larger countries, the war has further reduced the already meager arsenals. Some allies have sent all their Soviet-era reserve weapons to Ukraine and now expect the US to supply them. Resumption of supplies may be difficult for some European countries because they do not have a strong defense sector to manufacture weapons. Many of those countries depend on the US defense industry. Now they face a dilemma: will they continue to send weapons to Ukraine. This is a difficult question.
Ukraine will have to face the crisis
European officials have said in interviews to the AP that Russia should not be victorious in Ukraine and therefore will continue their support to Ukraine. But he insisted that the burden on his home defense is increasing. The Washington-based Stimson Center research group has estimated that the Ukraine crisis has reduced US stockpiles of Javelin anti-tank weapons by one-third. It has also put the armament supply under pressure as the US-made M777 howitzers are no longer in production.
