Rakhi Sawant’s mother Jaya Sawant passed away on Saturday after a long battle with cancer. On Sunday, Rakhi and her husband Adil Khan Durrani were spotted at Dr RN Cooper Municipal General Hospital in Mumbai to take care of the arrangements for his last rites. Rakhi had informed on Instagram that her mother would be buried at Oshiwara Christian Graveyard in Mumbai on Sunday. Rakhi and Adil were seen walking hand-in-hand as they arrived at Cooper Hospital ahead of their mother’s last visit. Rakhi, dressed in a white salwar-suit, was also seen guiding the van, which carried her mother’s coffin to the cemetery. Some close ones were also seen with him.


According to Deepak Namjoshi, pulmonologist and director of Criticare Asia Multispeciality Hospital and Research Centre, Juhu, Jaya passed away at around 9 pm on Saturday night. She was 73 years old. According to Deepak, Jaya had stage four endometrial cancer, which had spread to the brain, lungs and liver. He told PTI on Saturday night, “He was admitted about a fortnight ago. He was first treated in another hospital and later he was referred here.
On Sunday, Rakhi shared a statement on her Instagram Stories, “With deep sadness, I, Rakhi Sawant, inform you (about) the sudden death of my dear mother. Many of you know that she was suffering from some medical conditions… I am sad to say that she has gone… Please join me for my mother’s funeral service at 12 noon.
He also shared a video of his mother’s last moments in pain and wrote in Hindi, “Today my mother left me. And I’ve got nothing to lose. I love you, mother. Now who will listen to me, who will hug me? I miss you, I. She was seen crying sitting on the floor near her mother’s bed.
Rakhi was regularly spotted visiting her mother at the hospital and shared videos of them on Instagram. He had revealed in April last year that Salman Khan and his brother Sohail Khan had helped in his mother’s treatment.
