Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to flag off Northeast’s first Vande Bharat Express connecting Guwahati and New Jalpaiguri on April 14. A senior official gave this information today.
Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has already started preparations for the grand launch of India’s fastest train in the region.
The official told the Press Trust of India on the condition of anonymity, “Yes, it is true that Vande Bharat Express will be started soon in the Northeast. We are targeting to start this special train on April 14, when The Prime Minister will visit Guwahati.”
The PM, during his visit, is also set to witness a Bihu performance by 11,140 dancers and drummers in an attempt to make it into the Guinness World Records as the “largest recital of folk dances”.
