Lucknow:
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday termed the success of the film Pathan as a victory of positive thinking and a befitting reply to the negative politics of the BJP.
In a tweet in Hindi, Akhilesh Yadav said, “Pathan becoming a super hit is a victory for positive thinking in the country and the world, and a befitting reply to the negative politics of the BJP.” Several Hindu rights activists called for a boycott of the film, which has earned record-breaking numbers since its release.
In the run up to the film, and even after its release, mobs in the States vandalized cinema halls and tore down posters of the film.
A song in the film apparently led to a boycott call and trended on Twitter over the outfit of the film’s lead actress Deepika Padukone – its cut and colour.
The spy thriller has broken several box office records and has earned over Rs 500 crore worldwide since its release on January 25.
