Parle in talks to buy Polish biscuit maker Dr Gerard: Report


Indian biscuit maker Parle Products is looking to buy Poland-based colleague Dr Gerard from private equity firm Bridgepoint, newspaper Economic Times reported on Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

The value of Dr. Gerrard is estimated to be 10 billion to 12 billion rupees ($121.72 million to $146.07 million), the report said, adding that it could be as high as 24 billion rupees.

Established in 1993, Dr. Gerard makes over 200 different biscuits and salty snacks and exports to over 30 countries, according to its website.

The report said Bridgepoint, which bought Dr Gerard from France’s Groupe Poult in 2013, earlier this year asked investment bank Houlihan Loki to exit the business before the Russia-Ukraine war slowed the sale process, the report said. was appointed for
