Dr Maryam Ashraf, head of the department of anatomy at Nishtar Medical University, said rescue officials and the police should have been to blame for the morgue and the pile-up of bodies on its roof. He said police and rescue officials had asked to keep the bodies in the hospital.

An official said, “Police and rescue officials do not take them back on time. We have written documents in which we have asked them to take the dead body.

According to Geo News, the hospital has officially said that the bodies that the medical facility receives from the police are generally in poor condition and cannot be kept in the morgue as insects eat them. Insects then roam around in everything. Therefore the rotting dead bodies are kept on the terrace, where there are three rooms.
