What did Pope Francis say?
According to the European Times, Pope Francis said that I am not just talking about criminal pornography, which includes child abuse. It’s already degenerate, but pornography is a bit common. He told the priests who were just learning the work of the church that you people should be careful about this. He said that digital pornography is something that you know very well. I am pronouncing it. “The pure heart, who receives Jesus every day, cannot receive this obscene information. If you can remove it from your mobile phone, remove it.”
Several senior church officials accused of sexual abuse
The Vatican City last month imposed several disciplinary sanctions on Bishop Carlos Jimenias, a Nobel Peace Prize winner, over the past two years following allegations of sexual abuse. Bishop Jimennis has been surrounded by allegations of sexually abusing boys in East Timor in the 1990s. The Vatican said the office that deals with sexual abuse had received complaints about Bishop Jimenias’s conduct in 2019 and banned him within a year. Restrictions have been imposed on the movement and powers of Bishop Jimenias and he is prohibited from voluntary contact with minors or contact with East Timor.
