Pakistan’s Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah on Friday asserted that no internal or external agency was involved in the security breach at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), which led to the audio leak. A media report said that the investigation is pointing to individuals who may be involved in hacking and leaking of private conversations in the PMO.
The minister’s statement comes hours after another audio clip went viral on social media, before a third audio clip of former Prime Minister Imran Khan surfaced. Don told that this audio is focused on buying five and the numbers game. The minister said that it has been decided that cyber security protocols should be defined at a high level and whatever equipment is needed for security, should be procured.
He further said- However, I am clearly saying that there is no hostile or internal agency involved in this. Nowadays, technology has advanced so much that hacking a telephone call is no longer a difficult task. Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, the minister said the investigation into the security breach in the PMO has reached its conclusion, it will be decided later whether its report will be made public.
Sanaullah said that a comprehensive report is being presented to the Prime Minister and the recommendations in the report will be implemented as soon as the PM issues instructions in this regard. People often indulge in such activities for money. But I outright deny that any agency is involved in the security breach of the PMO.
Pakistan Army Chief Qamar Javed Bajwa is on a visit to America on 6 October, here he has met US Defense Minister Lloyd Austin, he will be under pressure to improve Pakistan’s relations.
