The film (Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai) is a story of a religious leader which is inspired by true events. In the film, a minor girl from a devotee family studies in a school run by Baba’s ashram. One day the girl is sent to Baba’s ashram and is told that she is haunted by a ghost. This Baba treats her forcibly. At first the girl and her family can’t believe Baba’s shameful act, but later gather courage and file a police complaint against him. The police take the victim’s family to a lawyer (Manoj Bajpayee) who is known for his honesty. Then the battle between Baba and this lawyer starts. Will this lawyer be able to bring justice to that victim? That will be realized only after watching this movie Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai.
Director Apoorv Singh Karki has made this film with writer Deepak Kingrani based on a true story. This movie of almost two and a half hours keeps you completely hooked. Although most of the scenes in the film are courtroom scenes, many shades of Manoj Bajpayee’s character are shown in the film.
The film’s writer Deepak developed Manoj’s character as an able lawyer as well as a son and father. The most remarkable thing about the film is that an ordinary lawyer is shown in a very ordinary way. He goes to court on an old scooter. He also takes his son to school. He is certainly influenced by the big and famous lawyers who come to defend Baba, but they also silence him based on arguments.
From movies to web series, Manoj Bajpayee has left his mark in the last few years. He is seen immersed in the role of a lawyer not only by his facial expressions but also by his body language. Especially his closing speech in the court in the climax will leave you stunned. Vipin Sharma, who is fighting the case against Manoj, has given a good performance, but the role of other big lawyers is not so good.
