A housewife is not an ordinary woman but can assume the form of Durga. This is the core theme of the film ‘Mrs Undercover’ released on the OTT platform this week. The movie has just released starring great actors like Radhika Apte, Sumit Vyas and Rajesh Sharma. The film begins with the gruesome murder of a woman lawyer in Kolkata. Who is killed on video by a deranged serial killer. This killer, who calls himself a common man, takes revenge against the women who make his place and has killed around one and a half dozen women in different cities of the country.
Story of the film
The heroine of the film, Durga (Radhika Apte), an undercover secret agent, lives in Kolkata. Raised in an orphanage, Durga trained and joined the secret force with a passion to do something for her country. For her cover, she marries a Kolkata businessman and sets up a house. The family consists of husband, mother-in-law and a son. Durga, who takes care of the house all day, often dreams at night that she alone defeats the enemies of the country. Durga, who has been taking care of the house for 12 years, gets a call from Secret Service chief Rangila (Rajesh Sharma) one day. Durga has to catch the common man who is killing women. Durga, who has been a householder for a long time, refuses to be a part of such a mission for once. But she takes up this mission to prove herself in the eyes of her husband. Will Durga succeed? You have to watch the movie to know this.
Review
The writer and director of this film, Anushree Mehta, has given a message of women empowerment along with making people laugh in the spy comedy film. Also has given a message to people who underestimate housewives. However, the story of the film is not that strong. This movie could have been better. In the first half, the story of the film provides entertainment. The film portrays the mentality of a criminal named Common Man who cannot appreciate the advances of women. In the second half, the heroine of the film looks like a typical housewife but takes on the form of Durga. Radhika Apte has done a great acting as always. She acts as a housewife and an agent. Rajesh Sharma is rocking the comic avatar of the Secret Service Chief. Sumit Vyas has played the role of the villain perfectly.
The film also gives a message
This film of around two and a half hours will make you laugh and entertain while giving a message to not underestimate women. However, a few things in the film seem to go awry.
