Kim Jong fired two missiles into the sea, South Korea was furious, told- act of provocation

Seoul: North Korea fired two short-range missiles into the sea on Friday. South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said in a statement that the military detected two missiles fired from Tongchon, North Korea’s eastern coast, around noon on Friday. The missiles went 239 km away, according to the statement. The statement said that South Korea strongly condemns these tests and describes them as provocations, which will affect regional peace.

It also called it a violation of UN Security Council resolutions that ban ballistic activities on North Korea. The statement said that South Korea has increased its surveillance on North Korea. The US Indo-Pacific Command said the test did not pose any immediate threat to the US or its allies. It did, however, outline the effects of North Korea’s illegal nuclear weapons and ballistic missile programs.

Japan’s Defense Ministry also said it had learned about the tests. The ministry is investigating what type of missiles were used. Along with this, their flight information is also being analyzed.
