President Biden tried to send a message of solidarity with the Deferred Action Legal Childhood Arrivals (DALCA) through this initiative. Three young Indian-Americans who attended the ceremony said they were delighted to be joining the President and the Vice President at the White House. Deep Patel, one of the invited youth, said that after attending the Diwali celebrations with the President and the Vice President, we are hopeful that the problem of children facing extradition will be resolved by the end of the year. Along with Deep Patel, Prareen Mhatre and Athulya Rajkumar attended the festival. Mhatre said that it is very close to our heart. Athulya Rajkumar said that our presence here shows that the President and the Vice President care about us and they have heard about us.

The problem is that now they are young and because of this they cannot live in America on the visa of their parents. At present, there are two lakh such Indians in America, most of them are American. Invited to the Diwali celebration at the White House, Deep Patel is the founder of the Improve the Dream organization. This organization is a campaign for children who have grown up as children of long-time visa holders, but due to old age facing extradition. By inviting the youth of the DALCA group to the Diwali celebrations, the US President has indicated that he too has an eye on the problems of these children.
