According to global job site Indiad, job postings in telecommunications and 5G grew by 33.7 per cent between September 2021 and September 2022.
“The 5G rollout in India has been eagerly awaited, and businesses have already started hiring to develop 5G-specific technology and services. With the rapid adoption of 5G by enterprises, we We will likely see an uptick in hiring for these roles in the next few quarters,” said Soumitra Chand, career expert at Indeed India.
This also means there will be an increase in the need for skilled talent who can design security systems and strengthen network architectures to adapt to the new technology, he said.
“Both job seekers and the industry at large need to ensure that they create a strong pool of cyber security talent to cater to the newly growing telecom sector,” he said.

The report is based on the analysis of job posting data from September 2021 to September 2022 on the Indeed platform.
Furthermore, the report showed that the COVID-19 pandemic fast-tracked the need for stronger cybersecurity practices as companies went remote, more devices were online, digital payments were on the rise and security issues were at an all-time high.
In fact the data showed that job postings for “cyber security” increased by 81 percent between August 2019 and August 2022.
