Jharkhand: Football players honored by Chief Minister Hemant Soren. News & Features Network

Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren felicitated the football players of Jharkhand who returned after playing the Under-17 FIFA World Cup at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat today. He talked to all the players and got to know their experience. Along with this, the Chief Minister also discussed their problems and assured all help. All the players were also very happy to meet the Chief Minister.

The players who met Chief Minister Hemant Soren included Indian Under-17 team captain Ashtam Oraon, Neetu Linda, Anjali Munda, Anita Kumari, Poornima Kumari and Sudha Ankita Tirkey. The Chief Minister said that it is a proud moment to represent the country in the FIFA World Cup and show stamina on the field, to take the country to the world stage in women’s football. Hearty congratulations and best wishes to our promising daughters of Jharkhand including Team India. You go ahead, your brother is with you.

After meeting Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Team India captain Ashtam Oraon said that it was great to meet the Chief Minister. He has assured to provide ground for our practice. Along with this, the assurance of help has also been given in case of any kind of problem. The grounds which are not in good condition will be rectified. Coach Anand Prasad Gop said that a demand has been made from the Chief Minister for setting up a football academy and a ground for the players to practice.

On Wednesday, after returning to Ranchi, all the players were given a grand welcome at the airport. He was welcomed by Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth, Vidyut Baran Mahato and officials of the Sports Department. Talking to reporters at the airport, Ashtam had said that he got a lot of experience playing against big teams. We tried to give 100% of what we learned in eight months of training. We played very defensively. As a team we were very disciplined.
