South Korea lobbied for retaliation
South Korea’s First Deputy Foreign Minister Cho Hyun-dong said in Tokyo that the three countries agreed on the issue that we will need a unique response if North Korea moves toward a seventh nuclear test. Japanese Deputy Foreign Minister Takeo Mori and US Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sharman were also present along with Cho Hyun-dong at the time of this statement. During this, the foreign ministers of the three countries also said that they are preparing for more stringent sanctions against North Korea. He claimed that all necessary measures would be taken to prevent North Korea from conducting nuclear tests. He also said that he also has some good options to teach a lesson to North Korea.
America targets China and Russia
North Korea began testing nuclear weapons in 2006. After which this year the US presented a proposal for additional sanctions against North Korea in the United Nations Security Council. But, this proposal was blocked by China and Russia by vetoing. US Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sharman said that we urge (North Korea) to refrain from further provocation. Nuclear weapons testing would destabilize the entire region. He took a dig at pro-North Korea countries China and Russia at the UNSC, saying that whatever happens here, such as the North Korean nuclear test … has implications for the security of the whole world.
North Korea continuously conducting missile tests
North Korea has been testing missiles at unprecedented speeds this year. It has fired more than two dozen ballistic missiles so far. One of them flew over Japan. North Korea is angry with the military activities of its neighboring country South Korea. For this reason, on the orders of Kim Jong Un, the North Korean army fired hundreds of rounds on its beaches last week. In September, the US aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan and its carrier strike group conducted joint military exercises with South Korea and Japan. It was the first time since 2017 that a US aircraft carrier had engaged in an exercise with the South Korean military.
