UAE won the toss and elected to bat and scored 111 runs in the allotted 20 overs for the loss of 8 wickets. In reply, Netherlands won the match by scoring 112 runs in 19.5 overs.
Opener Mohammad Wasim scored 41 runs off 47 balls for the United Arab Emirates. After that wicketkeeper batsman Arvind played an innings of 18 runs. Wasim stood at one end, but wickets continued to fall from the other end. UAE got the first blow for 33 runs. However, the rest of the team could not take advantage of this good start. Runs were scored, but the pace of runs was very slow.
In 20 overs, UAE team could score only 111 runs for the loss of eight wickets. In response, the Netherlands started poorly. When the team’s opener Vikramjit Singh was dismissed, the team’s score was 14 runs at that time. Not one batsman played a big innings but everyone contributed something or the other for the team. Due to which Netherlands managed to score 112 runs in 19.5 overs.
Earlier in the morning, Namibia surprised everyone by defeating Sri Lanka by 55 runs. Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bowl first. Namibia set a target of 164 runs for Sri Lanka to win.
