‘I am a big fan of India’
Now a new statement on India-China relations has come from China’s Ambassador to Bangladesh, Li Jiming. He said that China does not see India as its strategic rival. Jimming said, ‘We have never seen India as our strategic rival. Personally, I am a big fan of India. We can work together more closely to resolve economic and geopolitical matters.
Resolve regional issues in an ‘Asian way’
Jimming said that China “does not want to see a massive arsenal of weapons in the Bay of Bengal”. He said China intended to resolve all territorial disputes in an “Asian way”. China believes that we should solve our regional problems in an Asian way, not by following the standards of Europe or South America. He said China is willing to work closely with Bangladesh to ensure development, peace and stability in the region.
