The rarest are pink diamonds
Talking about colored diamonds, pink diamonds are the rarest and most valuable. Speaking on the occasion, Wenho Yu, Sotheby’s President of Jewelery and Watches in Asia, said Friday’s sale not only testifies to the demand for high quality diamonds in Asia, but also raises awareness of the acute shortage of pink diamonds. Meanwhile, Tobias Cormind, managing director of UK-based jewelry retailer 77 Diamonds, said the surprise sales proved that high-quality diamonds can still fetch good value in a volatile economy.
