A fragment of Shraddha’s skull and a lock of hair match those of her father and brother, establishing the skull and hair as Shraddha Walker. Now for further action AIIMS will be sent for postmortem by medical board.
It may be mentioned here that Aftab Poonawala is accused of killing his live-in partner Shraddha and dismembering her body into 36 pieces.
As many as 13 pieces of bones were found in the Mehrauli forest area when the Delhi Police was searching for Shraddha’s body parts. Aftab killed Shraddha and dismembered her body into 35 pieces and tried to destroy her in different parts of Delhi. After the Shraddha murder incident, there has been a deep reaction across the country.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also assured that the accused in Shraddha murder case will be punished soon. Delhi Police arrested Aftab on November 19, 2022.
It may be mentioned here that Shraddha and Aftab met through the dating app Bumble in 2018. He then came to Delhi on May 8, 2022 and was living in a rented flat here. On May 18, 2022, Aftab killed Shraddha and then cut her body into 35 pieces and threw them in different areas of Delhi for 18 days.
The bone sample was sent to the Central Forensic Science Laboratory for DNA analysis. The DNA report of the bones found has also been obtained by the police.
