A 42-year-old man was shot dead while drinking alcohol with his friends in west Delhi’s Mundka area. The police gave this information on Thursday.
He said that the police received information about a person being shot dead at Jai Dayak’s plot in Ghevra Industrial Area at 3.12 am on Thursday.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer) Harendra Kumar Singh said that when the police reached there, Narendra alias Nandu, a resident of Mundka village, was lying unconscious on the bed in a room and blood was coming out from his nose and the right side of his head. Said.
Police said a live cartridge and an empty cartridge were also found on the bed.
Police have identified the accused as 35-year-old Jitendra, also known as Ankit, a resident of Kharkhoda in Sonipat, Haryana.
The statement of 35-year-old Krishna was recorded. Police said Krishna said that on Wednesday he was drinking alcohol with his friends Narendra and Sukhbir at around 11 pm when a friend of the deceased joined them.
Suddenly, he took out a pistol from his pocket, loaded the weapon and shot Narendra in the head. Police said that he then took Krishna’s car keys at gunpoint and locked the room from outside, leaving them inside the room.
Crime and forensic team inspected the spot. Police said the body was taken to the Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital and the victim used to provide earthmovers on rent.
The accused Ankit fled from the spot in a car. Police said legal action is being taken under sections 302 (murder), 392 (punishment for dacoity) and 397 (dacoity, or attempt to dacoity, causing death or grievous hurt) of the Indian Penal Code and the Arms Act. The motive will be known after the arrest of the accused.
