Former Pakistan PM Imran Khan accused of attempted murder, FIR registered in Islamabad

Islamabad: Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has been accused of attempted murder. Due to this allegation against Imran, a case has also been registered at Islamabad’s Secretariat Police Station. It has been told by Geo TV that the FIR filed on Saturday is from Mohsin Shahnawaza Ranjha, an MP of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). Ranjha has alleged that he was attacked by supporters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) outside the Election Commission’s office. According to Ranjha, it was these supporters who were opposing Imran’s decision to disqualify him in the Toshkhana case.

What is the charge on Imran

Ranjha has said in his FIR that when he appeared as an respondent in the Toshkhana case, he was attacked by Imran’s supporters. Ranjha says that as soon as he came out of the commission’s office, the supporters targeted him with the intention of killing Imran at the behest of him. Geo TV quoted Ranjha as saying that an attempt was made to kill him by breaking the glass of the car. The FIR also states that the Srinagar highway was blocked at the behest of a PTI leader.

PTI supporters ransacked his car and threw stones. On Friday, the commission revoked Imran Khan’s membership of parliament. He has been accused of illegally selling gifts given by foreign figures and heads of state. Dollar was. PTI supporters are protesting across the country against the decision of the commission.

sacked in Toshkhana case
A petition challenging the decision of the Election Commission on behalf of Imran Khan has also been filed in the Islamabad High Court on Saturday. Imran was elected PM for the first time in the year 2018 and in April this year his chair has gone. He had received many expensive gifts on tour to Arab and European countries. The allegation is that Imran bought them at cheap prices and sold them at huge profits.

According to the Election Commission, Imran’s government had given legal permission for this illegal work. Toshakhana means that department of the cabinet where valuable gifts given by the government of other countries, heads of state and foreign guests are kept. It is a rule in Pakistan that every PM has to deposit all the gifts received by him, which become the property of the country.
