Such a thing has happened in the Parliament here which is going to create an embarrassing situation for any country. Anarchy was witnessed in Sierra Leone’s Parliament on Wednesday, 23 November 2022 after a dispute between government and opposition MPs.
In fact, in the parliament located in the capital Freetown here, the MPs were discussing about the new proportional representation electoral system of the government. It was during this discussion that a heated argument started. This heat increased so much that the MPs started throwing chairs at each other. A video of this was also posted on social media which is going viral. After this video surfaced, the discussion of this country became common.

It is shown in the viral video that the MPs of the opposition and the MPs of the ruling party are throwing chairs at each other. In this country, Sierra Leone People’s Party ie SLPP has a government and All People’s Congress ie ACP is in opposition. According to Africa News, this incident happened at 6 am. The incident became so serious that the police had to come to handle it and the miscreants had to be taken out of the Parliament.

The ruling party and the opposition clashed during the discussion in the Parliament.
In fact, Sierra Leone’s Electoral Commission has advised that the country switch to a proportional voting system before local and parliamentary elections due in 2023, although this will have no effect on the presidential election. This matter was being discussed in the Parliament, but it was strongly opposed by the opposition leaders and termed it unconstitutional.
