Talked that pimples will disappear in 10 cinchings
The girl, who spent thousands of rupees on treatment, filed a case against the hospital in the consumer protection court in Bangalore. Recently, while giving a verdict in this case, the court ordered the clinic to return all the rupees spent on the treatment of the girl and also to pay a compensation of 30 thousand rupees.
The girl went for treatment of pimples on 24 December 2021 after seeing an advertisement of the clinic. The person who treated her at the clinic claimed to be a physician, and also said that all the pimples on her face would disappear in 10 sittings with a special stem cell therapy.
A total of Rs 1.58 lakh was spent
However, stem cell therapy is still in the clinical trial stage. According to the guidelines issued by the Government of India, it is inappropriate to use this therapy for any purpose other than clinical trials, and it is not allowed in the country. The Bangalore clinic where the girl received the treatment initially charged Rs 54,868 and then charged the girl another Rs 1,03,633.
However, after six sittings with different doctors, the patient’s pimples got worse rather than healed, and her face became infected, as well as scarred. Along with excruciating pain in her face, the girl also started suffering from constant pain in her head and her hair also started falling out.
Face got infected, hair also started falling out
Instead of getting rid of the pimples, the girl approached a physician at the same clinic when another problem worsened, but he refused to offer any help. Eventually the girl realized that she had been duped, and filed a case in August 2022 at the Consumer Protection Court in Bangalore. In which he filed a complaint against the CEO of Prabha’s Vcare Health Clinic.
The court issued notices to the CEO of the clinic and ordered him to appear several times in this matter, but none of them came to the court within a single period. After hearing the arguments of the complainant for six months, the court finally ruled in her favor and found the clinic that treated her guilty. The court ordered the complainant to return the Rs 1,28,329 she spent on the treatment along with interest. Apart from this, the clinic will also have to pay a total compensation of 30 thousand rupees to the girl.
