Punjab, also known as the “Land of Five Rivers”, is undeniably one of the most popular states in India, and with good reason. From stunning, lush green landscapes to rich heritage, culture and mouth-watering Punjabi cuisine, one can find it all here. Talking about Punjabi food, it has become incredibly popular all over the world. A Punjabi Food Festival was organized at Dhaba By The Claridges in New Delhi from November 15 to 26, bringing the flavors of Punjab to the nation’s capital. Chef Harangad Singh personally prepared the menu. To honor the history of its homeland, it was created an a la carte menu.
From tikkas and kebabs to classics like Peshawari Meat Curry, Jalandhari Raan, Patiala Shahi Bhuna Murgh, and Amritsari Kulche Chole, the a-la-carte menu offers their signature dishes that combine aromatic spices with richness of taste. The menu also includes some of the best desserts from Punjab including gajrela, dry fruit kheer and aate ka halwa.

We started our tasting session with Patiala Shahi Bhuna Murgh and Lamb Chops. These artistic culinary creations fill the table with aroma and mouth-watering taste. So it was a great start. The Bhuna Murgh (Roasted Chicken) was juicy and full of bold Punjabi flavours. When we had finished the appetizers, the chef served us saag meat, dal makhani, matthi kulcha, and garlic naan. We won’t soon forget how delicious everything was. Perfectly spiced and totally aseptic. Beverages, including Virgin Mojitos and Peach Iced Tea, complement the meal.
To end the sumptuous meal, we were served flour pudding and kheer. These desserts perfectly satisfy our craving for traditional Punjabi desserts, which are always a treat for the taste buds.
