He was granted parole for 40 days last week following an application filed by the relatives of Gurmeet Ram Rahim. Ram Rahim released the music video on YouTube on the occasion of Diwali, which has been watched by more than 42 lakh people so far.

Gurmeet Ram Rahim also addressed the Katha Sabha in Baghpat, in which many leaders attended. The decision to release Ram Rahim on parole was criticized by the opposition. The opposition said that Gurmeet Ram Rahim is always released before the elections.
Senior Congress leader Udit Raj tweeted, “Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim was granted parole for 40 days in view of the by-elections in Adampur. Why doesn’t BJP contest Ram Rahim so that he doesn’t have to take secret votes?”
