Delhi: Dharna-demonstration of country’s top wrestlers continues at Jantar Mantar, electricity and water being cut at night. News & Features Network

New Delhi Dharna-demonstration of top wrestlers of the country is going on at Jantar Mantar. Olympic medalist wrestlers like Bajrang Punia, Vinesh Phogat and Sakshi Malik are leading the protest. Wrestlers have made a serious allegation of sexual exploitation on Wrestling Association President Brij Bhushan Singh. On his complaint, the Delhi Police has registered an FIR. Star wrestler Bajrang Punia, who is performing there, has made a big allegation against the Delhi Police. Punia said that electricity and water were being cut at the protest site during the night.

Accusing the Delhi Police, Bajrang Punia protesting at Jantar Mantar said that ‘electricity and water were cut off at the protest site during the night. The police said that if you want to protest then sleep on the road. What kind of pressure has come on them today, there was no such problem earlier, it has happened only because of the pressure of the Supreme Court’.

Punia further said that ‘we had ordered some goods but the Delhi Police is not allowing us to bring them here and is beating and driving away the person who brought the goods. Until we get justice, we will protest, no matter how much the police administration tortures us.

India’s medal winning wrestlers protesting against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh at Jantar Mantar have got the support of Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi. She has also reached to meet all the protesting wrestlers.

At the same time, after this meeting, Priyanka Gandhi said that ‘no one is aware of what is in the FIR that has been lodged. Why is the police not showing it? We all tweet and feel proud when these wrestlers win medals
