  • 45% increase in hospitalized patients in the UK
  • Scientists are keeping an eye on many new forms of Omicron

Corona News: The cases of corona in India have reduced a lot now. But whenever it seems like this, then Corona retaliates rapidly again. Meanwhile, once again in Europe including Britain, cases of corona have started increasing rapidly. The number of corona patients admitted to the hospital has started increasing. With winter approaching, experts have warned of the potential danger of a new wave of corona. In such a situation, the fear cannot be ruled out that the wave of Corona starts spreading in Europe as well as in other countries.

Health experts gave this warning

As Europe approaches winter, the threat of a new Covid wave is also deepening. Health experts have warned that confusion over the type of vaccine available will potentially limit booster doses. The Omicron subvariants BA.4 and BA.5, which dominated last summer, are still behind most of the infections. But the worrying thing is that now new subvariants of Omicron are starting to appear. World Health Organization (WHO) officials said this week that scientists are tracking hundreds of new variants of Omicron.

Testing declines, yet cases rising in Europe: WHO

According to media reports, WHO figures released late on Wednesday show that despite a big drop in testing, cases in Europe reached 1.5 million last week, up 8 percent from a week ago. However, the number of cases continues to decline globally. In recent weeks, the number of cases admitted to hospitals in 27 countries as well as the UK has increased.

45% increase in hospitalized patients in the UK

In the week ending October 4, the number of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 with symptoms increased by 32 percent in Italy, according to data from an independent scientific foundation, Gimbe. Whereas cases admitted to ICU have increased by 21 percent compared to last week. This week the number of people hospitalized from Kovid in the UK has increased by 45 percent compared to the previous week.
