Congress government’s gift to 1.36 lakh employees of Himachal Pradesh, old pension scheme re-implemented
The Congress government of Himachal Pradesh has reneged on its promise to NPS employees. The Sukhu government has given a big gift to the employees this festive season by restoring the old pension scheme in the first cabinet meeting. Addressing the NPS employees, Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that the old pension scheme is your right. Congress party has kept its promise. The Chief Minister has been thanked by the NPS Employees Union. The employees also celebrated outside the Himachal Pradesh Secretariat by beating drums. Notably, Himachal Pradesh has become the fourth state to implement the old pension scheme. Before Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Punjab have also re-implemented the old pension scheme. About 1.36 lakh employees of Himachal will benefit from this scheme.
A decision has been taken on the old pension scheme in the cabinet meeting. It is worth mentioning that the old pension scheme has also been implemented in Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan. Congress government is in both these states. After that, the Aam Aadmi Party government has implemented the old pension scheme in Punjab as well. Employees in Himachal Pradesh will have two options, Old Pension Scheme or National Pension Scheme.
