Chinese Consulate Protest: The protester was beaten up, dragged into the embassy and pulled his hair… China’s ‘ambassador’ in Britain crossed the limit

London: China does not tolerate its criticism even on foreign soil. Unidentified masked Chinese supporters beat up Hong Kong protesters in front of the Chinese Consulate General in Manchester. Not only this, these masked men tried to drag a man from the crowd inside their embassy. When the British police tried to free the man, the Chinese Consul General Zheng Zhiyuan also started hitting the protester. They pulled the hair of the protester and tried to stick their fingers in his eyes. Later, the police dragged the protester out of the embassy in an injured condition. Actually, the police cannot enter the embassy, consulate general of any country without permission. Taking advantage of this, the Chinese ambassador beat up a person protesting against China regarding Hong Kong. Now Britain has summoned the Chinese ambassador on the demand of the MPs. Responding to this, the Chinese Foreign Ministry has cited the security of the consulate.

People outside the embassy beat up the protesters
Police in the city of Manchester said a peaceful protest outside the Chinese consulate broke down on Sunday when unidentified men came out of the consulate building, dragged one of the protesters into the consulate and assaulted him. Police said officials had to intervene and move the man away. The man said he was beaten up when demonstrators tried to stop masked men from tearing down anti-Chinese government placards outside the consulate. Angry demonstrators gathered outside the consulate at the start of the Chinese Communist Party Congress over Jinping’s statement of complete occupation of Hong Kong.

China said – we have full right to security of embassies
China’s foreign ministry said on Tuesday that its diplomatic missions abroad have the right to take necessary security measures. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin dismissed the protester’s claim, saying the demonstrator had illegally entered the consulate and threatened the security of the Chinese diplomatic complex. He said that the diplomatic missions of all countries have the right to take necessary measures to maintain the peace and dignity of the campus. I want to emphasize that the peace and dignity of Chinese embassies and consulates abroad should not be violated. The spokesman said that the British government should increase the security of Chinese diplomats and personnel in their country.

Britain expressed concern, MP said – summon the Chinese ambassador
The British Prime Minister’s Office Downing Street said the Manchester incident was “very worrying”. UK lawmakers appealed to the Conservative Party government to summon the Chinese ambassador to explain what had happened. After this, the British government has also summoned the ambassador in charge of China. Videos on the BBC’s website show masked men tearing down placards of protesters and then a scuffle breaks out in front of the consulate. In the video, several people wearing masks are seen beating up a man who has been thrown to the ground amid the clashes. Police said the protester was taken to a hospital for treatment for injuries. No one has been arrested. Attempts were made to contact the Chinese Consulate in Manchester but did not respond.
