- Xi Jinping is about to become the President of China for the third time in a row
- Jinping vows to forcibly annex Taiwan to China
- Rejected the intervention of a country like America
China’s threat to Taiwan:China’s President Xi Jinping, set for a record third time in power and possibly for life, warned on Sunday that China “will not give up the option of using force” to reunite Taiwan into the mainland. Not only this, he resolved to modernize the country’s military to world class standards to safeguard the national sovereignty, security and developmental interests.
Taiwan considers itself a sovereign state, but China considers the self-governing island a separate part of its own country and China has not ruled out the possible use of force to annex Taiwan. “We will not give up the option of using force and will take all necessary measures to stop all separatist movements,” Jinping said at the national convention of the ruling Communist Party of China (CPC) every five years.
Jinping insisted on becoming president for the third time
Barring Jinping, all the party’s top leaders, including second-ranked leader and Prime Minister Li Qing, are likely to be replaced or reshuffled during the Congress as the Jinping-led administration completes a 10-year term. However, it is expected that the Congress will support Jinping to continue in office for a record third time, as he has already been declared a “main leader” like party founder Mao Zedong.
The more than 2,300 elected representatives attending the Congress held a long applause when Jinping resolved to annex Taiwan to China’s mainland.
China angry over US interference in Taiwan
China conducted intense military exercises and fired missiles around the island of Taiwan following the visit of US leader Nancy Pelosi in August, raising concerns that China could prepare the ground for an invasion. Jinping said that the wheel of history is moving towards the reunification of China and the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. “We will encourage people on both sides of the strait to work together to promote Chinese culture and build closer ties,” he said. During his 10-year tenure, Jinping has made extensive reforms to strengthen the army.
