What is the harm to China due to the lockdown
Due to the lockdown, China is facing many problems. The Chinese economy continues to decline. People have a severe shortage of food and drink. People are not allowed to come out even to go to the hospital. Millions of people have become jobless due to being imprisoned in their homes. Despite this, Xi Jinping is not ready to give any relaxation in the Zero Kovid policy. Due to this, protests were also seen in China against Xi Jinping. Recently, banners were hoisted against Xi Jinping and tires were burnt at an overbridge in Beijing. However, experts believe that Xi Jinping is demonstrating his hold on China through the Zero Kovid policy.
China’s 28 crore population in lockdown
According to the BBC report, complete or partial lockdown continues in 152 cities of China. China has 28 crore population in the grip of this lockdown. Of these, a lockdown was imposed in 114 cities in August itself. Beijing is the only major city in China where a lockdown has not been imposed. However, only a few days ago when the corona cases came to the fore, the movement of people was banned in many shopping malls and public places. Not only this, people’s Kovid investigation is being done even today in crowded places.
China giving different names to lockdown
It has been told in the report that China is giving different names to pacify the anger of the people against the Kovid lockdown. In many cities, terms such as stasis management, at-home stillness, stillness through out the whole region or stop all necessary movement are being used. Apart from this, the movement of people is being restricted by not calling the Temporary Social Control a lockdown. Hotspot is being named as Enclosure Management. The evacuation of people from such areas is being limited. People of these areas are being allowed to come out only after the Kovid test.
