Charter Plane Crash in Costa Rica: A small plane crashed on Saturday (October 22) in the Caribbean, just off the coast of the Central American country of Costa Rica. Six people, including a German businessman, are feared dead in the accident. According to Security Minister George Torres, it is believed that the five passengers were German citizens and the pilot was Swiss.
After the flight went missing on Friday, pieces of a two-engine turboprop plane were found in the water on Saturday, according to AP news agency. The flight list of this small charter plane included a passenger named Rainer Schaller. The man of the same name runs an international chain of fitness and gym outlets, including Golds Gym and McFit.

Costa Rica’s Assistant Security Minister Martin Arias said no bodies were found at the site at this time. Arias said that the pieces found showed that they belonged to the plane. Till now we have not found any body, living or dead.

The plane that crashed was a nine-seater Italian-made Piaggio P180 Avanti, a special profile aircraft. The plane disappeared from radar on its way to the coastal resort town of Limon. Security Minister Torres told that the plane had originated from Mexico.

Torres said that in the afternoon an alert was received for a flight from Mexico to Lim├│n Airport, in which five German passengers were on board. Torres said the search was launched immediately but was temporarily called off due to bad weather.
According to other media reports, Rainer Schaller, owner of other brands including Gold Gym, is missing along with his family. It is suspected that Schaller was on the plane with the family and has died. Schaller, his partner Kristian Shikorski, their children and a fitness trainer are said to be on the passenger list of the plane that crashed off the coast of Costa Rica.
