Nora Fatehi Bangladesh Program: At this time recession is being seen in many countries of the world. To save money, the governments of these countries are taking different decisions. In this episode, now the government of Bangladesh has banned the dance program of Bollywood actress Nora Fatehi to save money. Nora Fatehi was about to perform at an event in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, for which the government has refused permission.
The Bangladesh government has taken this decision to save dollars as part of austerity measures. Bangladesh’s Ministry of Cultural Affairs said in a notice issued on Monday (October 17) that Nora Fatehi was not allowed in view of the global situation and for the purpose of maintaining foreign exchange reserves. Nora was to perform at an event of the Women’s Leadership Corporation in Dhaka on 18 November and come to present the awards.
What is the position of foreign exchange reserves?
The ministry referred to the central bank’s restrictions on dollar payments amid dwindling foreign exchange reserves, which fell to $36.33 billion as of October 12. This is enough to cover almost four months of imports. A year ago it was $ 46.13 billion. Nora Fatehi comes from a Moroccan-Canadian family. She made her debut in Hindi films in 2014.
IMF will hold talks with Bangladesh
Anne-Marie Gulde-Wulf, deputy director of the Asia and Pacific Department at the IMF, said the International Monetary Fund is preparing to send its first negotiating mission to Bangladesh at the end of this month to help Bangladesh seek the loan it sought. For that, talks with the government can be started. He said that the foreign exchange reserves of the country are at a good level right now, but are going down. The IMF is discussing holding an economic program that will include measures to stabilize the economy and prevent recession.
