Amritsar: Youth dies after ASI Harbhajan Singh opened fire News & Features Network

Amritsar There was a major accident in the ASI during the show-off of the revolver due to firing. The bullet went straight to the young man standing nearby. The young man died. In this case, the Punjab Police has taken a big action against its own jawan.The accused ASI Harbhajan Singh has been arrested.

It is not yet confirmed whether the ASI has been booked for culpable homicide or murder. The police is also looking for the youth whom the accused was showing the revolver. Soon after the incident, he ran away with the mobile from the shop.

Angry over the incident, shopkeepers and family members staged a sit-in outside Amandeep Hospital. The relatives of the deceased youth are demanding strict action against ASI Harbhajan Singh. On the other hand, the police have also arrested the ASI while suspending him.

On Wednesday afternoon, ASI Harbhajan Singh had reached the mobile shop to see the mobile phone in the Liberty Market located in front of Amritsar railway station. It is alleged that during this time he started show-off showing his government pistol. During this, shots were fired from the revolver. The bullet went into the chest of 27-year-old Shakti Nagar resident Ankush, who was showing the mobile phone in front.

The shopkeepers immediately admitted Ankush to Amandeep Hospital. ASI Harbhajan Singh posted at Lawrence Road post was on duty at the time of the accident. Leaving duty midway, he reached the shop to get the mobile phone. The entire incident has been captured in the CCTV camera.
