Afghanistan: Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, is becoming a ‘bomb capital’ under the Taliban rule. There are reports of blasts coming from Kabul almost every week. Today there was a blast in Kabul again. This time inside the Home Ministry. It is reported that a blast occurred on Wednesday at a ministry mosque in Kabul, Afghanistan, in which employees and visitors were offering prayers. A Taliban official said the blast took place inside the interior ministry mosque on Wednesday afternoon.

No organization took responsibility for the attack

The Interior Ministry is responsible for security and law enforcement in Afghanistan. Interior ministry spokesman Abdul Nafi tweeted, “Unfortunately, there has been an explosion in a mosque where some Home Ministry personnel and visitors were offering prayers. The details of the incident will be shared later.” The spokesperson did not mention whether the mosque was located inside or near the ministry building. A hospital in Kabul says the blast at a government ministry mosque was a suicide attack. So far at least 2 people have been killed in this attack. This is the news quoting news agency AP.

No organization has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Suicide attack on education center
Last Friday, a suicide bomber attacked an education center in a Shia-dominated area in Kabul, Afghanistan. Initially it was reported that 19 people were killed and 27 others were injured in the attack, but later the United Nations reported that at least 46 girls and women were involved in the suicide bombing in Kabul on 30 September. At least 53 people were killed.

Car bomb explodes near mosque in Kabul
Earlier on September 23, at least seven people were killed and 41 others, including several children, were injured when a car bomb exploded near a mosque in the Afghan capital Kabul on Friday. A Taliban official said that no organization has claimed responsibility for the attack. There have been several such attacks since the Taliban took power in Afghanistan a year ago.
