The deceased have been identified as Akash, Jatin, Baljit, Sandeep, Vishal and Puneet. He grew up in the same Jawahar Nagar area of Palwal and ran a small business to support his family, police said. The friends left for Gurgaon to celebrate Baljit’s wedding on January 22. Everyone was going home after partying when the accident happened.
Puneet’s uncle, Suresh Mallah (47), was in another car a few meters behind the Alto. When they reached a petrol pump near Mangar police station, a truck collided with a car on the road. Suresh said, the truck hit Alto so hard that the car overturned.
By the time the police team along with the ambulance reached the spot, all the six had died. The accident was so terrible that the car was overturned. After the car was pulled out from under the truck, all the bodies were sent to the hospital morgue. Due to the incident, a wave of grief has returned among the family members.
ASI Amarjit of Dhauj police station said efforts are on to trace the truck driver. The bumper of the truck is badly damaged. At first glance, it looks like a truck driver’s mistake. We are trying to find it. A case was registered against the truck driver under IPC sections 279 (rash driving) and 304A (accidental death). After postmortem, the bodies were handed over to the family members and they were cremated on Friday.
Akash and Jatin were the only children of their parents, police said. Jatin’s elder brother died of illness a few years ago and his father also passed away recently. Sandeep had two daughters aged one and three.

It is being said that all the youths seen in the viral video are friends who lost their lives in the accident. He uploaded this video on social media about 10 minutes before the accident. In the video, it is seen that all the youths are singing while sitting in the car.
