According to the information provided by the administration, Amit Saini, Financial Controller of Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority, died after his neck was cut by a helicopter blade in Rudraprayag. Amit Saini went to Kedarnath in a Kestrel Aviation helicopter to inspect the Kedarnath helipad. It is said that he died when he got caught in the blade of the helicopter while landing at the helipad. The CEO of Uttarakhand Civil Aviation was also present there when the incident took place.
Preparations are being completed for the Amarnath Yatra starting from April 25. Uttarakhand government is continuously working in this direction. So, preparations have been started for helicopter service as well. Snow has been removed from the helipad. UCADA official reached Kedarnath to inspect the helipad. The Uttarakhand government had also issued an alert on Sunday regarding the pilgrimage to Kedarnath Dham. It said that it has been raining and snowing for the past few days. Observing this, devotees have been requested to be cautious and start their journey based on the weather forecast.
Baba Kedannath’s cupboards are going to be opened on April 25, for which preparations are going on at the administrative level. Along with this, the temple committee is also working on the decoration of the Kedarnath temple. All departments are busy with their own preparations. So, helicopter flights have also reached the Dham for the convenience of pilgrims. DGCA has approved nine helicopter services for Kedarnath this time. These nine helicopter services will operate from Guptkashi, Phata and Shersi. Passengers can book tickets for helicopter service only through IRCTC website. Helicopter service to Kedarnath Dham cannot be booked from anywhere other than this website. Online registration is required for helicopter service.
This time the fare from Guptkashi to Kedarnath has been kept at Rs 7740, from Fata to Rs 550 and from Shersi to Rs 5498. Last time there were complaints of getting many fake helicopter tickets. In view of which, this time it has been decided to give 90 percent tickets online and the remaining 10 percent tickets have been reserved for VIPs.
